Ayurveda signifies Asparagus racemosus, as an important herb to treat disorders affecting women’s health and classify it as:
- Medhya: Enhancing intelligence, promoting learning and memory
- Rasayana: Improving health by increasing immunity, vitality, and resistance. It acts as a rejuvenator and imparts longevity as well as helps in reducing stress.
- Balya: As strength promoter
- Stanya: As a galactagogue (induces milk secretion)
- Jeevaniya– As an erythropoietic
The modern Ayurvedic practices utilize the roots of herbs as an antispasmodic, appetizer, stomach tonic, aphrodisiac, galactagogue, astringent, antidiarrheal, anti-dysenteric, laxative, anticancer, anti-inflammatory, blood purifier, anti-tubercular, antiepileptic and night blindness, kidney problems, and throat complaints.
