How long can I use Ayurvedic medicines? Do I need to take breaks? When will I see results?
There is no need for breaks in use and it is not recommended. The duration of use depends on the specific problem.
  • Acute cases
In acute cases such as inflammations or infections, digestive problems, allergic reactions, female problems, etc. The effect can be seen within minutes or hours.
  • Chronic diseases
The longer the problem lasts and the more chronic it is, the longer it is necessary to use Ayurvedic medicines. With the right combination, dosage and lifestyle recommendations (diet, sleep, exercise), improvement usually occurs within 1 month. We usually recommend taking Ayurvedic medicines for 3-6 months. For some diseases (e.g. serious neurological diseases, autoimmune diseases) for a long time.
Does Ayurvedic medicine have any side effects?

Ayurvedic medicine as such has no side effects. But we would like to draw your attention to the fact that if you, for example, consume too many hot spices (Turmeric, Guggul, RumoGin5), then it is quite possible that you will experience heartburn. Then it is appropriate to combine hot spices with cooling ones, for example, Amalaki Rasayan or Giloy.

What time of day should Ayurvedic medicines be taken?

We recommend taking Ayurvedic medicines between meals, i.e. not on an empty stomach or during meals. However, this does not apply to herbs intended for weight loss (garcinia) and herbs intended for diabetics to lower blood sugar levels (diabeton, fenu jim, gymnema sylvestre, karela, etc.). It is better to take them on an empty stomach.

Can I use Ayurvedic medicine along with conventional medicine?

Ayurvedic medicine can be used along with conventional medicines. However, keep a gap of at least 1 hour between taking medicines and Ayurvedic remedies.

Can I stop taking conventional medicines and switch to Ayurvedic medicine only?

Under no circumstances should you suddenly stop taking any medications (e.g. hypertension medications, blood thinners). Herbs act gradually, so they need to be taken along with medications. Consult your doctor about the possibility of stopping medications after your results (blood, pressure) start improving. You can also consult our Indian Ayurveda doctors.
